the contemporary dynamics linked to the process of globalization, penalize the communities that belong to the Euro-Mediterranean area, generating a lack of knowledge that causes a progressive loss of identity
After the last year’s appointment regarding the first international workshop on Food Design promoted by the National ADI and the OAPPC of Naples and the Province, the first international conference was launched, on the theme “Food Cultural Heritage in the Euro-Mediterranean area“, which will take place in the splendid setting of the De Felice Foundation at the Palazzo Donn’Anna in Posillipo in Naples on 10 September 2018.
The first program meeting, May 2017, focused on the theme of Food Design and Food Security in the Euro-Mediterranean Area, focusing on design as a tool for access to food and for inclusion and dialogue between peoples.
The contemporary dynamics linked to the process of globalization, penalize the communities that belong to the Euro-Mediterranean area, generating a lack of knowledge that causes a progressive loss of identity, for this reason the institutions were identified who should carry out a strong action aimed at to the construction of the Euro-Mediterranean project on food: “educating consumers, looking for a food ethic, preserving the ritual linked to fruition, guaranteeing accessibility, pursuing innovation, preserving culture, giving life to identity as a primary value that increases the need for union in diversity“.
The final resolution results of the works concluded with a very precise programmatic point, in which the Food Design Commission of ADI (Association for Industrial Design) set out to activate in the three-year period a path aimed at creating a virtuous behavioral paper that considers the food of the Mediterranean as a heritage of universal value, an excellent quality system and suitable actions to guarantee food and health to all and to unite people around a primary need.
With great pleasure, the Commission accepted the announcement of the Ministry of Cultural and Environmental Heritage and of the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies that 2018 would be the year dedicated to Italian food, with a series of initiatives able to promote healthy or good quality , excellence and variety of food and wine tradition and for this reason the Naples event will focus on this theme.
The different aspects and implications of the Food Cultural Heritage (“Food as a connection of cultural identity”, “Social inclusion and sustainable development”, “Education for development“) will be the object of the conference
The works will be articulated in two moments:
